Majory’s World | Photographer Rebecca Reeve

Some of the best designs and campaigns have a certain tension to them. An odd balance of two mostly opposite things. Ralph Lauren mentioned this when it comes to fashion. He would wear tux jackets with blue jeans and pair other items together that typically wouldn’t be considered a match. It worked though!

When it comes to design, there’s two things I really appreciate it: that tension and simplicity. I can’t think of a better example of this than Rebecca Reeve’s Marjory’s World.

I came across this when I was planning a campaign and had to do a deep dive. I love coming across something only to find out it’s in fact a series! Needless to say, my mind was blown, and this is way too good not to share.

This set was shot in 2012 – 2013 in various locations but mostly the Everglades where Rebecca was working through an artist residency.

As many landscape and travel-focused shots I have seen, this tops them all. A natural scape paired with a pair of curtains or a solo panel.

Enough said. Let’s just take a look.
