Furniture and Sculptural Art Crafted with Rock and Steel | Artist Quinn Morrissette

Looking for a new piece to add to your home? Looking for a statement piece that incorporates natural elements?
Trades may be a lost art, but there is still hope. Several artists are using their skills to create something totally new and original. In this case, Quinn harnesses the power of welding.
He exercises a respect for nature with each piece he creates, realizing furniture and sculptural objects from steel, stone, and wood.
Quinn hand picks inspiring materials from the New England landscape, from the Appalachian Mountains down to the Atlantic Coast.
At his Studio, Quinn can be found “drawing” with steel, as he follows cracks and fissures, areas of erosion, and unique colors embedded in raw goods. Each piece is transformed from a fragment of the landscape into an artifact and an heirloom, a piece that transcends the ordinary vernacular of natural and manmade.
“I try to imagine my job, as an artist, is to showcase an artifact that was created by the earth.”
